Fake Tim Hortons prize page asks you to share before you can continue
Who may be targeted: People who receive a Tim Hortons prize or gift-card link through a message, social post, or messaging app.
What we are seeing
A page using Tim Hortons branding says the visitor has won a $200 gift card and asks them to share it with multiple groups or friends through Messenger or WhatsApp before continuing. Links shown for people who receive the shared page use unrelated domains, including assaitssapp[.]com and assaibonus[.]com. Do not share the page or enter information on it; verify promotions through the official Tim Hortons app or website opened independently.
Warning signs
- The page says you won a $200 gift card even though you may not remember entering a contest.
- You must share the page with several groups or friends before you can continue.
- The page uses Tim Hortons branding but is hosted on timhortons-prize[.]com, not the official Tim Hortons website.
- The links shown for people you share with use unrelated domains.
- Comments and photos claim that other people received the prize; those claims can be staged.
